Fire Response

4×4 Samil fire trucks with 9,000L capacity, Honda pumps, flatline hoses and water cannons — reaching fires where others can’t. Field and structural response.

Emergency Medical

EFAR-certified medics provide life-saving stabilisation on scene, often arriving 20–40 minutes before an ambulance in rural Drakenstein.

Private Radio Network

Our own VHF repeater network and 24/7 manned control room connects over 600 properties — working even when cell networks fail.

Search & Rescue

Coordinated mountain and rural search operations in cooperation with SAPS and K9 units across the Drakenstein and Boland mountains.

Waterbombing Support

Ground crew coordination for aerial waterbombing operations, protecting crops, vineyards, orchards and farm structures from wildfire.

Community Training

Accredited first aid and fire fighting training for community emergency responders. 30 volunteers trained and deployed across 5 informal settlements.

160 Children Evacuated — Du Toit’s Kloof Pass

A fast-moving wildfire threatened a mountain camp with over 160 children. DFW teams raced ahead of the flames, coordinated a rapid evacuation and fought through the night. Every child reached safety.

Abducted Children Found — Keerweder Mountains

A child abduction alert triggered an immediate DFW all-units response. DFW responders, SAPS K9 and Paarl Fire coordinated a mountain search — the children were found and treated on scene by DFW medics.

House Saved from Lithium Battery Fire — Paarl

A neighbour radioed DFW directly. DFW and Drakenstein Fire arrived together and contained a dangerous 8kW lithium battery blaze to the garage. The house was saved.

Roof Fire Stopped Cold — 21:25, Rural Paarl

A farm dwelling owner radioed DFW at 21:25 — fire between the ceiling and roof. DFW arrived in minutes and extinguished the blaze before it spread. Without direct radio access this would have been a total loss.

A major overnight fire threatened multiple farm dwellings. DFW’s network mobilised field commanders from Dal Josafat, Simondium, Klein Drakenstein, Val de Vie and Wemmershoek — dwellings that would have been lost were saved.
